 North Hartsville Elementary

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a new school year at North Hartsville Elementary! We are thrilled to begin this exciting journey with you and your children. As we open our doors to another year of learning, we do so with great enthusiasm and a shared commitment to helping every student succeed. 

Our theme this year is “United We Soar!” — a message that reflects our mission to inspire a love of learning, develop leadership in every student, and empower them to reach new heights. 

Key Dates and Events

  1. First Day of School: The first day of classes for all students is on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Please ensure your child arrives on time and prepared for the day.  We will begin at 7:30 and dismiss starting at 2:20
  2. Breakfast/Lunch: Students will have the opportunity to eat free breakfast and lunch. Breakfast and lunch menu for August,2025. https://www.dcsdschools.org/departments/business-office/school-nutrition/breakfast-and-lunch-menus
  3. Meet & Greet: We will be hosting a Meet & Greet on Tuesday, July 29th with the following times:  
    • 3:30 for 5K & Grade 1 & 4:00 for Grade 3-5. 
    • Everyone will start in the cafeteria before meeting your child’s teacher and dropping off any supplies. 
  4. School Events & Happenings: Throughout the year, we have planned various events so please use our school Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nhe110 to stay informed about school news.

Parental Involvement

  1. Volunteer Opportunities: We encourage parents to get involved in our school community through volunteering, attending field trips, participating in PTO/Nhesef activities, or joining advisory committees.    DCSD Volunteer Application.(Good for 2 years)
  2.  Communication Channels: Open communication between home and school is essential. We will regularly update you through newsletters, emails, and our school website and SchoolStatus Connect.

At North Hartsville Elementary, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school sets the foundation for student success. Your support, involvement, and open communication are vital, and we look forward to working with you throughout the year to support your child’s growth.
